Tomukun BBQ

30-APR-2014 Tomukun BBQ

tomukun BBQ and slurping turtle opened the same week, which made it really difficult to decide which restaurant to try first. (we went to slurping turtle first during finals because we definitely wanted to drink with korean barbeque)

overall, i had a great experience at tomukun. the food was very yummy and surprisingly pretty close to authentic korean. i appreciated the unlimited refills of the side dishes (반찬:banchan) unlike what it says on the menu. i was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients, especially the meat, as some barbeque places offer extremely low quality/fatty meat in exchange of cheap prices.

one thing that bothered me was the service, as one of the waitresses was slightly rude and seemed inexperienced in serving customers. still, i would highly recommend this place, as it is the other korean barbeque place besides 'seoul garden' in ann arbor!

combo A (beef brisket, marinated short ribs, spicy pork) and extra marinated short ribs (갈비:galbi)
makkoli, somaek (소맥: soju+beer)

hot pot on the left is army stew (부대전골/부대찌게:boodae jungol/boodae jiggae)
